August 14, 1946 - January 18, 2020
It is with great sadness in our hearts to say that on Saturday January 18, 2020, our mother lost her struggle with health problems derived from a major and unexpected stroke. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends when she peacefully passed away in Redlands, CA. She grew up in San Bernardino, CA where she graduated from Pacific High School. She was a longtime resident of Fontana, CA, dedicating her life’s work as a home engineer, loving mother and grandmother. Nellie always displayed a strong sense of family pride – which was everything to her. She enjoyed spending time playing games with her grandchildren as well as sharing a bowl of butter popcorn. During the holidays she loved spoiling her children & grandchildren with sweet treat bags full of her favorite chocolates; Hershey Miniatures and Hershey Kisses. Her all-time favorite characters were Snoopy and Charlie Brown and up until recently her bunny named Harry. She enjoyed eating a cheeseburger or a number 9 from Mitla Café while drinking a Coke or A&W Root Beer. Her favorite pass time was completing her recent word search book and watering her plants. Nellie like to watch classic, western, horror and Antonio Aguilar movies including Goodfellas and the Godfather trilogy but channel 4 was a must at 1 p.m. because she couldn’t miss “Days of our Lives,” or “Ellen.” She enjoyed listening to various genres of music but her favorite were Rocio Durcal, Juan Gabriel, Vicente Fernandez and Lady Antebellum. Nellie loved watching NASCAR, Football and baseball with her family. She enjoyed being the “unofficial grandma” to the local Girl Scout Troop. However, most importantly she was a wonderful mother who always displayed a quiet understanding with her family and everybody she met. She was always dressed to the nines with her purse at hand ready to spend the day with anybody who invited her first. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel P. Limon and Mary L. Aguila. She is survived by her children Isaac, Estela, Juan, Raul, Victoria and Gloria. An amazing grandmother to 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A loving sister survived by her brother Michael and her sisters Christina, Cecelia and Celia.
