Doris Gilmour Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Doris Gilmour left this life, on July 12, 2017, and entered into her saviors arms. She was 86 years of age, and died of natural causes, in Yucaipa, California. Born September 28, 1930, in Lynn Haven, Florida to Carl and Nell (Nellie) Broome. Doris was a resident of Yucaipa for 30 years or more. She graduated from Redlands High School, "49" and attended Southern California Bible College (Now Vanguard University-Costa Mesa, California), for 2 years afterwards. In 1955, Doris met her future Husband, on a blind date, in Redlands, Ca. The two girls switched guys at the end of the date, and that man became her Husband, Harvey James Gilmour. Harvey and Doris were married in June 1957, until Harvey's untimely death on December 1, 2005. They were married 48 years. Besides her Husband and children she had a passion for being a prayer warrior, on Friday mornings at Oak Valley Church and attending Yucaipa First Assembly of God. Doris is survived by two daughters, Rhoda Lynn Merrill (Doug), of Yucaipa, Kathlyne Ruth Lorentz (Daniel), and one son James Allan Gilmour of Yucaipa. 4 Grandchildren ~ Heather, Danielle, Samantha and Virginia. 5 Great Grandchildren, Aiden, Kaylie, Olivia, Gage, and Deegan. She has two brothers and one sister and many other relatives and friends that loved her and will miss her everyday. Memorial Service is on August 13, 2017, Sunday, at 4:00pm at Oak Valley Church, in Calimesa. Graveside Service is Monday, August 14, at Riverside National Cemetery, at 11:00am staging area #5.
